Product Overview: Sikalastic®-590
Sikalastic®-590 is a one-component, water-based polyurethane-acrylic hybrid liquid membrane. It is designed for roof waterproofing, offering a seamless finish, high elasticity, excellent UV resistance, and limited water-ponding resistance.

Key Uses: Waterproofing and refurbishing roofs (especially those with complex geometry), extending the life of failing roofs, and reducing building cooling costs (using the reflective White version, which features a Solar Reflectance Index of ~100.9).

Key Attributes: Ready-to-use, non-toxic (low VOC), seamless, water vapor permeable, and highly crack-bridging.
Application Systems
Sikalastic®-590 can be applied in two ways depending on project requirements:
1. Waterproofing WITHOUT Reinforcement
Used for general UV-stable roof coating and reflective energy efficiency.

Primer Coat: Sikalastic®-590 (diluted with 10% water) @ ~$0.3\text{ kg/m}^2$

First Coat: Sikalastic®-590 @ ~$0.5\text{ kg/m}^2$

Second Coat: Sikalastic®-590 @ ~$0.5\text{ kg/m}^2$
2. Waterproofing WITH Reinforcement
Used for new constructions, complex areas, joints, cracks, or heavy-movement roofs.

Primer Coat: Sikalastic®-590 (diluted with 10% water) @ ~$0.3\text{ kg/m}^2$

First Coat: Sikalastic®-590 @ ~$0.5\text{ kg/m}^2$

Reinforcement: Embed Sikalastic® Fleece-600 (or equivalent) into the wet first coat.

Second Coat: Sikalastic®-590 @ ~$0.5\text{ kg/m}^2$ (applied wet-on-wet).

Final Coat: Sikalastic®-590 @ ~$0.3 – 0.5\text{ kg/m}^2$ (applied after the previous coat is dry, usually the next day).
Critical Application Requirements
⚠️ Important Limitations:
No Overcoating: This is an exposed system; do not cover it with tiles, concrete, or other heavy materials.
Slope: Substrates must have a minimum slope of 0.5% to 1% to prevent permanent water ponding.
Temperature/Humidity: Apply only when air/substrate temperatures are between $+15\text{ °C}$ and $+35\text{ °C}$, and relative humidity is below $80\%$.
Weathering: Protect the fresh application from rain for at least 24 hours.
Concrete Outgassing: Always apply during falling ambient/substrate temperatures (such as late afternoon) to avoid “pinholing” caused by rising air.
